Webtech company Brand by Hand is significantly expanding its business with the acquisition of Aalborg-based agency Lidt Lakrids. Already present in Aarhus and Copenhagen, Brand by Hand is now also establishing itself in North Jutland, giving it a solid foothold nationwide.

“We’ve known Lidt Lakrids for many years and followed each other closely. When the opportunity arose to join forces, it was an obvious choice. This is a deal that will be felt positively both inside our company and among our customers,” says Mikkel Veldt Andersen, CEO of Brand by Hand in a press release.

Brand by Hand was founded in 2015 and currently employs 22 people. Customers include names such as Nykredit, DanChurchAid and Kølpin Hotels. With the expansion, Brand by Hand will consolidate its position as a growing player in the Danish webtech industry and prepare for further growth in both the public and private sectors, according to the press release.

Since 2016, Lidt Lakrids has delivered creative digital solutions to customers such as Aalborg Congress & Culture Center and Beauté Pacifique. The company will now become part of Brand by Hand, but will continue as an independent brand under the new ownership.

“We are proud of what we have built and even more proud to join the strong team at Brand by Hand. Our customers will get the same dedicated service and close contact – now just with even more muscle,” says CEO of Lidt Lakrids Michael Madsen.

The acquisition brings together a number of strong competencies within web development, design and user experience in one unified agency. The goal is to deliver more ambitious solutions to some of Denmark’s most high-profile companies.
