Aarhus crypto technology selected for elite European program

Tech Savvy icon Aarhus crypto technology selected for elite European program

Blockchain scaleup Partisia has been selected for the EIC Accelerator, an EU program that supports disruptive technologies with global market potential.

“It’s an honor to be selected. We’ve already received inquiries from people who want to get in touch with us because we’ve become part of the EIC program,” says Peter F. Frandsen, co-founder and COO of Partisia on Kitchen’s website.

In this application round, 61 companies from 17 countries were selected and only two Danish companies – Partisia and Sparrow Quantum – made it through the eye of the needle.

Cryptotechnology makes it possible to share data without revealing it

Partisia works with advanced encryption technology that makes it possible to analyze and combine data across organizations without revealing the underlying sensitive information.

The vision is a world where governments and businesses can harness the value of large datasets without compromising privacy or data security.

The technology makes it possible to extract insights from multiple datasets simultaneously, even if the individual parties never share their raw data with each other.

Originated by Aarhus University

The company has deep roots in the research environment at Aarhus University and originates from the Department of Computer Science.

Today, Partisia has around 75 employees and is headquartered in INCUBA Next at Katrinebjerg in Aarhus. In addition, the company is represented in Copenhagen, Bogotá and Tokyo.

According to Peter F. Frandsen, the close relationship with the university still plays an important role.

“Being so close to the university is a symbiotic relationship. Because we have access to some of the best developers, researchers and students,” he says.

Want to go from projects to product

The EIC Accelerator gives companies access to both capital and international visibility. The program can fund companies with up to €2.5 million in grants and up to €15 million in investment or loan guarantees.

For Partisia, the next phase is about scaling the technology and reaching more customers.

“So we’ve managed to get through a pretty narrow needle’s eye,” says Peter F. Frandsen.

The ambition is also to change the company’s business model.

“We have the technology, the experts and the platform. Now we want to have many customers at once, so we’re moving from being a project-driven company to a product-driven company,” says Peter F. Frandsen.
