Aarhus holiday platform wins prestigious e-commerce award

Tech Savvy icon Aarhus holiday platform wins prestigious e-commerce award

In a market dominated by international platforms and digital giants, Aarhus-based Landfolk has managed to make its mark with a strong combination of personal service and technological innovation. This has now been rewarded at the E-commerce Awards 2025, where the company won the award as “Best B2C company with online revenue under DKK 100 million.”

“In an industry dominated by giants, Landfolk has not only found a niche but given the entire vacation rental market a loving, digital upgrade. Here, rental takes place on the landlords’ terms and with personalized service that gives top marks on Trustpilot,” is one of the reasons for the award.

Landfolk is a digital marketplace for vacation home rentals, but with an approach that differs significantly from traditional holiday home portals. The landlords have great influence, the service is personal and trust is paramount. This has created a concept that has more than doubled its growth in 2024.

Experienced entrepreneurs are behind it

The Aarhus-based company was founded in 2020 by seven former founders and employees of the platform Gaest, which had previously been sold to the giant AirBnB. With Landfolk, they have once again struck a nerve in the market where the digital and the human merge.

Behind the scenes, Landfolk is also a rapidly evolving technology company. The company’s proprietary platform uses advanced data analytics and AI to optimize both guest experiences and the rental flow for hosts. This has not only made the platform more efficient, but also created the basis for new business models in the form of tailored value-added services that create added value for both customer and landlord.

The E-Commerce Award is presented by the Danish Chamber of Commerce. The judging committee highlighted Landfolk for their ability to understand the market, dare to go their own way and combine technological ingenuity with human insight – all with impressive growth as a result.

“Landfolk understand the market, dare to go their own way and show what e-commerce looks like when it combines human insight with technological ingenuity,” the winner’s statement continues.
