“While Denmark has made progress in securing capital at different stages of development, there is still room for improvement in collaboration, interfaces and models. Too many promising startups still struggle to raise the necessary funding for the next stage of growth. Together with our partners, we look forward to a summit that makes a special effort for the startup ecosystem in the region, which this year features new initiatives and a record number of participants,” says Jacob Doktor Mogensen, Director of Communications, Community & Acceleration at INCUBA, in a press release.

The 15 startups have been selected based on their potential to scale their business and the audience will get a unique insight into their visions through pitches. In addition to the entrepreneurs’ presentations, there will be inspiring keynotes from experienced industry professionals such as Geeta Schmidt, co-founder of Humio and now partner at Seed Capital, and Peter Hede from Nordic Eye Growth & Venture Capital.

Award shines a spotlight on entrepreneurship

One of the highlights of the day is the INCUBA awards, honoring those who make a difference in the entrepreneurial environment in Central Jutland. The Startup of the Year and Investor of the Year awards recognize innovative initiatives and dedicated investments.

“It is crucial that we celebrate those who are brave and innovative. The INCUBA award is an important recognition of the startups and investors who create growth and innovation in Central Denmark Region. Their efforts help strengthen the ecosystem and inspire others to follow in their footsteps,” says Søren Grønbæk Nielsen, Associate Director at EIFO.

The finalists for Startup of the Year are Battman Energy, Kanpla, Norfalk and Teitur Trophics, while Christian Vinther (Founderment), Pernille Lynggaard Frandsen and Stefan Rosenlund are competing for the title of Investor of the Year.

Platform for entrepreneurs and investors to network

The day also features a panel discussion where experienced investors discuss the challenges of scaling a business. This discussion gives attendees a unique opportunity to hear about the dilemmas that often arise when startups grow from local to global players.

Aarhus Investor Summit will create a platform for entrepreneurs and investors to network and share experiences. The event is just one of several initiatives to help make Aarhus an emerging hub for innovation and growth in Denmark.

“Around half of all jobs in Aarhus are created by entrepreneurs and startups. Aarhus Investor Summit is therefore an important event. Here, investors gather and we see exciting entrepreneurs and successful investments that have been given a launch pad to create more companies and jobs in Aarhus. Aarhus Municipality wants to continue to promote entrepreneurship, investment and growth in startups, which is why we are once again a partner in this year’s Aarhus Investor Summit,” says Søren Boel Pedersen from Aarhus Municipality in the press release.
