Aarhus startup wins prestigious entrepreneurship award: Creating unity on the roads

Tech Savvy icon Aarhus startup wins prestigious entrepreneurship award: Creating unity on the roads

The startup Team Driver, created by Camilla Beenfeeldt, Anthony Sangano and Charles Garvang, has won DKK 100,000 and the title of winner of the Entrepreneurship Award in the Diversity category. The award was presented by Morten Bødskov, Minister for Business and Industry, and Christian Vintergaard, Director of the Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship, during the Danish Entrepreneurship Festival in Copenhagen.

“It’s crazy to win, especially when we’ve seen who we’ve been up against. It’s no secret that being a startup is tough, so the money and recognition helps both our confidence and our entrepreneurial journey,” says Charles Garvang from Team Driver in a press release.

Team Driver aims to innovate the transportation industry, which for many years has lacked focus on work environment and community. The industry has long been stagnant when it comes to improvements that truly support drivers in their everyday lives. The three entrepreneurs want to change this by introducing new technologies and tools that both improve wellbeing and bring the sector up to modern standards. Through their digital platform, they gather relevant information in one place, allowing drivers to maintain online connections and arrange face-to-face meetings – something particularly valuable in an often isolated industry.

Strengthened communities in the industry

Team Driver’s platform also integrates AI technology to help with reading and learning disabilities, and content is continuously updated based on drivers’ own questions and needs.

“Among other things, the money will be used to strengthen and continue building communities in the industry. You have a lot of alone time as a driver. In the old days, you could call over a walkie-talkie. That’s gone, but we want the strong community back in the industry, so there’s someone to talk to when you’re driving on the highway at three in the morning,” says Charles Garvang.

The Entrepreneurship Award, established by the Ministry of Business and the Foundation for Entrepreneurship, honors three young entrepreneurs who are paving the way for new talent. The purpose of the award is to inspire young people to entrepreneurship and celebrate them with a financial prize of DKK 100,000.

“First and foremost, congratulations to the winners Team Driver. They have managed to stand out in a very strong field, all contributing to creating a more inclusive and diverse business community. And there is no doubt that we need more diversity in Denmark. This also applies to our companies. I’m therefore pleased to see that diversity is also something that Danish entrepreneurs value. I look forward to following Team Driver’s development and seeing how they manage to continue working on their exciting project,” says Morten Bødskov, Minister for Business Affairs.

In the other categories Life Science and Craft Revitalized, the awards went to Yuman and Acembee respectively.
