Danish cleantech companies forge connections and drive innovation

Bella Center Copenhagen buzzed with activity as TechBBQ 2025 kicked off on August 27–28. Over 10,000 participants filled the wide halls and exhibition areas, attending pitch sessions, workshops, and exploring displays across life science, urbantech, and cleantech. This year’s move to Bella Center provided more space and better logistics, allowing each stand to shine and host meaningful meetings and discussions.

At the heart of the cleantech sector, CLEAN organized a shared exhibition area for 18 selected companies, giving them the opportunity to showcase their solutions, meet investors and partners, and experience the European ecosystem up close. The atmosphere was a mix of energy, curiosity, and high professional intensity, with ideas debated, partnerships initiated, and new connections formed.

One standout participant was Aarhus-based H2O Shift. With their PowerPack solution, which treats water and air completely without chemicals, filters, or energy, H2O Shift demonstrated a technology already used by major companies such as Tivoli, Normal, Novo Nordisk, Arla, and Mærsk – with over 5,000 installed units delivering proven value both in Denmark and internationally.

For H2O Shift, TechBBQ was about more than technology – it was about relationships and inspiration.
“At TechBBQ, we are here to expand our network, find new partners, and be inspired by the technological front line. We believe that the solutions of the future are not just about innovation, but also about community – and we are excited to be part of it,” says H2O Shift.

From a broader perspective, CLEAN’s startup navigator observed how all 18 companies on the stand were actively connecting with investors, discussing collaborations, and gaining international exposure. As they put it:
“TechBBQ is where relationships turn into results. As a startup navigator, I have curated and run CLEAN’s exhibition area with 18 exhibitors so our members could get maximum exposure, qualified meetings, and a strong platform to meet new partners and potential investors. We are proud of the 18 members who participated, and we could clearly see that they all – including H2O Shift – spoke with investors, partners, and many other players in the Danish and European ecosystem. TechBBQ is the place you need to be. We have been present at TechBBQ for more than 10 years, always focusing on showcasing and promoting Danish water and environmental solutions.”

The event also offered moments of real-time insight: visitors stopped to ask questions, compare solutions, and exchange experiences. Each conversation reflected the energy and curiosity driving Denmark’s cleantech and deep tech sector. TechBBQ 2025 demonstrated that Danish cleantech companies can combine innovation with community to create international visibility, unlock new partnerships, and access investment opportunities.
