Security Tech Space in Aarhus has appointed Jakob Ellemann-Jensen as the new chairperson. The organization, which brings together over 80 companies, authorities and research institutions, was established in 2023 with the ambition to strengthen Denmark’s cyber defense and promote the export of Danish cyber security solutions.

Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, who is currently Deputy Director of the Danish Chamber of Commerce and has previously served as Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister, will use his experience from both the political and business landscape to join forces across sectors in the fight against the growing cyber threat.

“Danish companies and authorities are challenged by the increasing cyber threats. Cybersecurity is a crucial prerequisite for growth, innovation and a well-functioning democracy. Security Tech Space plays a crucial role in strengthening Denmark’s capacity in this area, and I look forward to contributing to bringing together actors across business, research and innovation and authorities in a joint effort,” says Jakob Ellemann-Jensen in a press release.

Strong collaboration in Aarhus

Security Tech Space has a special focus on the many Danish SMEs that are often less equipped to handle cyber attacks. The organization serves as a knowledge center and collaboration platform and was founded on the initiative of Aarhus Municipality, Aarhus University, the Alexandra Institute, INCUBA and VIA University College.

Jakob Ellemann-Jensen takes over the chairmanship from Lise Fuhr, who has led the organization since its establishment.

“It has been a privilege to help build Security Tech Space from the start and contribute to creating such a central and unique player in the cybersecurity field in Denmark. I look forward to following the continued development and wish Jakob and the rest of the team all the best in the future,” says Lise Fuhr.
