New CEO of Visma scaleup: “I see great potential in the growing compliance focus”

The Aarhus-based software company Plandisc gets a new CEO on June 1. On June 1, Thea Windfeldt will take over as CEO from co-founder Torben Stigaard, who has headed the company since its inception in 2012. The change marks both a generational shift and a new strategic direction with artificial intelligence at the center, according to a press release.
“It has been a fantastic journey to get Visma as an owner, which has also been a catalyst for our massive growth in recent years,” says outgoing CEO of Visma Plandisc Torben Stigaard.
He continues:
“Visma has, with their industry knowledge and Nordic market share, taken our digital annual wheel to the next level. It’s also important to emphasize that our massive growth would never have succeeded without the fantastic team of colleagues – Plandisc is in a great place today, which is why I have made the difficult but right decision to step down as CEO and hand over the responsibility to Thea Windfeldt.”

Plandisc, which was sold to Visma in 2021 and today has over 80,000 users in both public and private organizations, is facing its next growth phase. Here, AI will be a key driver. According to the company, the technology will support smarter, faster and more intuitive planning solutions, strengthening the position Plandisc has already built.
Experienced leadership profile
Torben Stigaard has been with Plandisc since the beginning and is now handing over management to Thea Windfeldt. She brings experience from the strategic, organizational and operational levels. Most recently, she was CEO of Visma TIMEmSYSTEM and HR Director at Visma Public. In addition, she has held leading roles in both startup, consulting and public environments.
“I have, both within Visma and before, worked with internationalization, and it is therefore natural for me to focus on how we can optimize Plandisc in Denmark, the Nordic region and wherever Visma is present. I want to continue the enthusiasm and drive that exists in Plandisc – to make a difference for end users,” says Thea Windfeldt.

Thea Windfeldt’s task is not only to ensure continued growth, but also to realize synergies across the Visma Group and turn AI into concrete value for customers.
“We need to develop even more on our AI agent to ensure we have the smartest and most intuitive solution for our users. I see great potential in the growing compliance focus in large organizations, such as GDPR – which is being imposed on high and low,” says Thea Windfeldt.
