The “Math Professor” takes the helm at growing SaaS startup with exit ambitions
After a year of significant growth, there is now a new man in the CEO chair at start-up Lumant. Kasper Holst Hansen is taking over the position with a clear ambition to build the company into an exit case.
“My plan, together with the rest of Team Lumant, is to move the company to where we can make a wild exit, like I did with MatematikFessor back in 2020,” says Kasper Holst Hansen, the new CEO of Lumant.
He replaces co-founder of Lumant Rasmus Pedersen, who continues on the board and as Head of Customer Success.
From marketplace to SaaS engine
Lumant has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. Subscription revenue has gone from zero in 2023 to DKK 200,000 in 2024 and further to DKK 1.4 million in 2025. In 2025 alone, subscription revenue increased fivefold.
According to Kasper Holst Hansen, a crucial step was taken in March 2024 when his company Flying BizKit became a co-owner.
“When Flying BizKit ApS became co-owner of Lumant in March 2024, we helped transform the platform from a marketplace to a SaaS solution. We streamlined workflows and processes, and we have helped the company raise capital from an investor who also contributes significantly to the marketing of Lumant’s product,” he says.
He also points out that strengthened financial management and reporting has laid the foundation for the next growth phase.
Well-known figure from SaaS and EdTech
Kasper Holst Hansen is best known as the man behind MatematikFessor, which he sold to Egmont in 2020. With experience from scaling and exits, he brings a profile that matches Lumant’s ambitions.
“With MatematikFessor, Kasper proved that he can build something extraordinary, and we are convinced that with his experience, drive and strategic overview he can take Lumant to the next level. It’s not just about Kasper’s results, but just as much about his human approach, leadership and the way he manages to create direction, energy and momentum,” says co-founder of Lumant Rasmus Pedersen.
The other co-founder René Nielsen adds:
“It makes sense to bring Kasper in because he has been exactly where we are now. He’s tried scaling a learning platform and he knows what it takes to focus when you want to build something big. With him as CEO, Lumant gains experience and direction without losing pace.”
Chairman of the Board Mark Andersen, who is also CEO of the investment company Admill, supports the appointment.
“We are delighted to welcome Kasper as our new CEO. His leadership experience, business acumen and ability to drive results make him the right choice to lead Lumant into the future,” he says.
Ambition of 25 million DKK in revenue
The goal is now to increase the subscription business to a minimum of DKK 4 million by 2026 – with an ambition to double that. In the longer term, Lumant aims to exceed DKK 25 million in subscription revenue and enter international markets.
According to Kasper Holst Hansen, the timing is favorable. He points to a Danish need for a local solution, a growing market of solo entrepreneurs with knowledge to sell, and an industry characterized by older and complex systems.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to lead Lumant. I have been a part of the company for almost 2 years, where it has grown both in terms of revenue and organization. We have gotten a grip on the foundation of the business and in 2025 alone we have increased subscription revenue fivefold and raised capital. The foundation is therefore strong, with a competent and dedicated team that is perfectly aligned with our vision of driving Lumant to greatness.”
